International Submarine Cable System, Telekom Malaysia (Apr 2006 - Now)
Basically, this unit is being incharged with invoice issuance and payment which relates to numerous 'Submarine Cable Systems' in which Telekom Malaysia is one of the investment parties. When we talked about billing and payment, of course there would be some accounting works being done backoffice.
Apart from that I'm also the Central Billing Party (CBP) for Dumai-Melaka Submarine Cable System (DMCS) and South East Asia - Middle East - West East 4 Submarine Cable System (SMW4). What the heck is Submarine Cable?
Let's take a look shall we...
These are how Submarine Cables look like. To make it simple, it is an undersea cable. How do you think we get connected to the fascinating WWW? Opppsss.... are they working or shooting Bay Watch? 33fs!!q42r2jrwfb. Hmmm probably dressing for comfort...
Back to the 2 submarine cable systems which I am the CBP.. DMCS is fairly a short cable from Melaka to Dumai. As for SMW4, there are 14 telecommunication companies from different countries joining together as a Consortium a.k.a SWM4 shareholders.
Ok... let's see the stations of SMW4...
My function as the CBP is being their treasurer. So, if they want to know how much money they have left in the bank account, they would have to asked me. If the want to know how much they have spent they asked me again... It's a pretty nice job I would say.
Being a CBP, I had had the opportunities of attending several meetings overseas: 1 Phuket,Thailand 2 Singapore 3 Islamabad, Pakistan 4 Nice,France 5 Lonavla,India. It's not really fun; attending those meetings. But at least I'm a little bit exposed.
Getting bored already? Alright, let's see some REAL photos... Let me introduce to my very attractive eligible manager, Azlinawati Alias (my superior) ...
KACHING!!
This picture was taken in at the peak of a hill somewhere in Lonavla, India. I can't really remember the name of the place but Mr. Kamalendu from TATA telecommunications told us that it was once a fortress. When you are in India you'd have to do a lot of climbing. Hadoi... awat la nk sight seeing pon lagu ni...
We had no meeting that day. One day tour is always a must for F&ASC meetings. The chairman fancies sight seeing after a few days of hard work and constant bickering in the meeting room. Good for us..
In Phuket with a few of SMW4 colleagues.. Mozainy, Geetha, Meng Fai, Faisal, Itthiporn, etc...
In a Nasi Padang Restaurant somewhere in Singapore... Francis, Elham, Pauline, Tirayut, Vigano, Ruggeri...
While I'm on my way from Nice to Monacco on our sight seeing trip. When will I ever get a ride in one of those big boats; let alone O.W.N one?!! Sighhh..... only in my dreamzzzz...
2 most active SMW4 F&ASC members; Savino (still talking) & Olivier (shiny head beside Savino ;) )
It's been long since I travel. The last trip was to Lonavla India somewhere in Jan 2008. Well, whatever it is... I'm really blissfully happy now... Cheers!!!! :)))))
