Newly weds project

Started this project before we get married. It took me approximately 6 months to complete... in an 'on and off' basis.

The finishing stitch was done in Penang when we were visiting Tok Ayah. We are no longer newly weds, ARE WE?!

Went to The Curve a few weeks ago and found wall stickers being sold at one of the stalls. I think it's a great wall deco especially for those with the budget size of a pinhole (no offense... but ME am the person) ... 1 set at the cost of RM49. Compare this to the wall paper.

There are a few more designs which are much more bigger of course but I assure you it won't cost you more than RM80 per set. Great rite..

I couldn't wait to stick them on the wall but not really confident with my 'stiff hands'. So have to wait for my kesayangan 'Pakcik' whom I know, are always neat and tidy about his work.

I like this grown up version of stickers. :) Hope it doesn't look too Indianlike...

For one more day

I used to love reading love stories. Perhaps it was due to lack of romance in my life. Although I still read them, it no longer sent shivers through my spine like it used to. (chehh chehhh)

I borrowed this book from Mar, my officemate. I'm always borrowing from her. Teee heee..

It tells about near death experience. About the relationship betweens parents and child, about a parent's constant sacrifice and always forgiving and loving her child no matter what. About one's regret, about taking people for granted, etc.

The book not only tell about a story but touches our deep emotional foundation.

Meeting Henry

Chaperoned by beloved half, I went to meet Henry and sister at Subang Parade, Saturday May 11th 2009, 12.30 p.m.

Henry from Penang was my pen friend since we were form 3. Nerdy as we were, we exchange exam papers and Henry taught me a little bit of physics, the subject I was so poor at.
That day was the first time we met each other. They are very friendly and nice persons, Henry and sister. And I am so lucky that my half not only let me meet them but he had also been there with me despite having to work that Saturday.

Unfortunately it didn't occur to me to take our picture together.

So we had our 'nasi lemak' lunch at Uncle Lim's on Henry's. My half had 'asam laksa'. Thanx friend... The food are nice but the best menu is 'nasi lemak' I think. We also had some roti bakar which according to Henry's sister is also one of the must.

Afterwards, we went our separate ways. Henry & sister to MPH. My half & I to window shopping. Subang Parade is a nice place for 'jalan2'. It was neither too crowded and nor too empty.
Ciaooo...

Projek Kacang

Ini adalah projek mencari duit raya... kacang, kurang asam & gula2 for 50 cent per packet. Started a few months back and after 3 months of operation, I ceased the operation for a while. Rsnye orang da jemu makan kacang hari-hari. After raya la plak... Insyaallah kalau ade kudrat.

The moral I got from selling kacang is that doing business is not easy especially for someone 'berat mulut' like me. The interest is there but perhaps lacking of talent a little here and there but still boleh la nk hidup.

Sometimes we thought that people doing business is really making money. Actually, not all of them are privileged like that. Many do it not because the money is good, but they are used to selling things and it's the only job they know or qualified for.

Tapi... Rasullullah S.A.W pernah bersabda '90% dr rezeki adalah dari berniaga'. For instance, my bujang-bujang neighbours. They sell their stuffs sampai travel from one state to another. Memang masyuk derang nih sampaikan banyak kereta-kereta mewah bersidai in front of my house sampai nak parking kat rumah sendiri pon susah!! And not for long, dah tukar kereta lain pulak...

Ok.. sape nk kawen dgn laki kaya.. datang ngorat abg-abg/adik-adik sebelah rumah I ok...

Wild Mushrooms (Cendawan Busut)

We went back to Gamin again. One of the neighbours held a 'kenduri kesyukuran'.
After the 'kenduri' we went to rest at Uwan's house. So... there we found some wild mushrooms.

My side of family are not so much of mushroom lovers but being married to my other half, I'm introduced to quite a number of new edible stuffs or new recipes. Ain't I lucky? So there we were, plucking the mushrooms. Hubby had to run pipe water to soak the soil before we can pluck the mushrooms out. The 'pantang larang' is that we should never dig the mushroom out using any kind of metal or else the mushroom would never grow on the soil again.
US... in action...

Catch of the day...

MIL made 'gulai lemak' to go with the mushroom. Yummy... But as usual, we forget to snap the photo. Since my mother had never cooked any mushroom and I'm not an expert in using the 'santan' either. So... when I brought the cendawan back to Taman Melati, I decided I surf the web to find a simple recipe for it. I'm not exactly a good cook. The only reason I cook is that my mom is working late for these few weeks, my regular routines are usually limited to just chopping the onions, preparing the table and washing the dishes. Which is equally tiring!

Then... I found a recipe for 'Sup Cendawan Daun Kunyit'. This is how it looked like yesterday.

The ingredients for Sup Cendawan Daun Kunyit are:

1. Spring Onion - chopped
2. Garlic - chopped
3. Chilies - chopped
4. Anchovies
5. Daun Kunyit - saute with 1,2,3,4
6. Mushrooms - add after the soup boil and leave for 2 mins
7. Some water for the soup

Duh.... pretty simple huh? I LURVE SIMPLE... mcm iklan Digi pulak..

A proper yet another simple dish to go with this Mushroom soup is omelette. So again, I search for a new omelette recipe. Just to try a different style of making the omelette. My dad always mentioned about how no one can ever make as nice an omelette as my grandma. So... I thought this might be IT. It's an Indonesian recipe which is called 'Telur Dadar Pedes'.

The ingredients for Telur Dadar Pedes are:

1. 3 eggs - beaten
2. Spring Onion - chopped
3. Chilies - grind
4. 3 small onions - grind
5. 1 garlic - grind
6. 1 1/2 spoon flour
7. 2 table spoon of water.
These 2 recipes are not exactly something to be 'WOW' about. Nothing compared to MIL gulai lemak. But edible... and can be used if you are desperate like me. Hehe... So, if you have any ideas on how to improvise on it, your comments are very much welcomed. :)

The president's speech took soooo long.

Confferment of Degree was done as fast as they could accompanied by mostly fast beat musics. Just imagine, the feeling of excitement and suspense in merely anticipating the 1 second to claiming your so deserved scroll on the stage with thousands of others.

Finally, 'cotak' (what we 'fondly' called him during our childhood) obtained his Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management from MSU.
